Doctor Bio
Dr. Larry Barmat is double board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
During his 25+ years in practice, he has served as Assistant Professor of the Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences Department at Temple University School of Medicine and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jefferson College. He comes to us from Kindbody where he was the Eastern Regional Medical Director. He has also been the Division Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Lead Physician, IVF Medical Director, and Director of Clinical Research at Sincera Reproductive Medicine, formerly Abington Reproductive Medicine.
Dr. Barmat was privileged to serve as past President of the Philadelphia Area Reproductive Endocrine Society, previous Board Member of the Philadelphia Obstetrical Society and current Board Member of Temple Medical School Alumni Association.
Dr. Barmat is an accomplished Reproductive Endocrinologist, surgeon, and scientific researcher. He pioneered and conducted extensive research on the use of autologous endometrial coculture (growth of embryos on a layer of patient’s own uterine lining cells) to improve IVF pregnancy rates while at Cornell. He was also involved in research initiatives such as identifying uterine markers of implantation, exploring the effects of hydrosalpinges on IVF outcomes, effectiveness of robotic reproductive surgery, and principal investigator of numerous IVF clinical trials. He has extensively published works on in-vitro fertilization, fibroids, endometriosis, and received many honors and awards from local and national medical societies.
To honor his exemplary career, Dr. Barmat has been awarded the title of Top Doctor by Castle Connolly consecutively each year since 2011, as well as the title of Top Doctor in Philadelphia Magazine 2018-2024 and New York Magazine in 2023.
In addition to his academic accolades, he completed the Ironman Lake Placid triathlon. Dr. Barmat also enjoys tennis, golf, travel and time with his family.

Dr. Barmat’s passion extends beyond medicine; he has published research on music therapy's impact on IVF-embryo transfer outcomes, specifically utilizing harp therapy, which has shown to reduce anxiety levels on this milestone day in the IVF journey.
